Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on… – Matthew 6:25
REFERENCE
Matthew 6:25-34
The fact that Jesus repeated, “DO NOT WORRY!” 3 times in this passage shows concern in the heart of the Father that His children worry not. It also shows that as dwellers on this earth realm, we are prone to worrisome thoughts and agitating passions.
Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not yet here, and today is the only day we have. If we fill our hours with regrets of yesterday and worries of tomorrow, we will have no today in which to be thankful or truly live.
Is your life not more than food and your body more than clothing? Do you think that if God gave you a body and put life in it, even before you asked Him, He is not able to give you all you need to preserve both, now that you can ask Him?
Whenever you are tempted to worry or doubt if God can meet your needs, consciously look at the birds of the air… They do not sow, they do not reap, they do not gather into barns, yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than these?!
None can estimate the value of a soul, for which Christ has given His blood and life! Have confidence in His goodness; if He so dearly purchased you, He will also miraculously preserve and save you.
Worry is not fore-sight, it is fear-sight – and it is only cured by faith-sight. When we worry, we believe more in our problems than God’s promises.
Chill, God has got your back! Happy new month!
