Exodus 4:1-5
When God encountered Moses, he had a shepherd’s rod in his hand. He was tending his father-in-law’s flock. However, the rod in his hand became the starting point of all that God did in his life. Although he looked at the rod as an ordinary stick.
In life, no man’s hand is empty; God Himself sees to it that either by birth or through the process of life and living, every man soon finds something in his hands – a skill, a talent, a learning, a qualification, an experience, exposure, etc.
All these furnish a man to exchange his poverty for prosperity, his failure for success, and his insignificance for relevance.
David had the skill of using a sling and a stone in his hand which brought him to limelight. Peter was experienced in deep sea fishing, so he became a soul winner. And Paul’s qualification made God to open uncommon gospel doors to him. (Philippians 3:5&6).
Pause and do a self assessment of the things you have in your hands – gifts, talents, experiences or learning. What are you doing with them? Do you see them as potentials for greatness, or are they ordinary gifts by your estimation?
