For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the Lord sends rain and the crops grow again! – I Kings 17:14 (NLT)
REFERENCE
I Kings 17: 8-16.
Faith is the ability to take risks, based on God’s Word, being fully convinced that the outcome is positive, even when the facts don’t say so. It is taking a bet on God’s ability to make the impossible possible, the invisible visible, etc.
Despite the fact that all that this widow had was just a handful of flour and a little olive oil, she still served Elijah first (just as he instructed her to).
Her obedience, faith and risk paid off. God multiplied her little and she had more than enough flour and olive oil left in her home; enough to feed herself, Elijah and her son.
Her giving didn’t make her poorer, it made her better… it was God’s strategy to bless her.
You may find yourself in a tight place like this widow, but if you can trust God, take that ‘risky’ leap of faith based on His word, you will never be lesser for it. Whenever you can’t see God’s hand in your situation, just trust His heart and act in faith. God will not ask you to ‘jump off a cliff’ if He doesn’t plan to catch you*.
ATTRIBUTES OF FAITH:
## Faith always will involve a sacrifice and a risk (based on God’s word).
## It always puts a demand on you. It requires your action.
## Faith is absolute. It has to be 100% faith or it is not faith at all.
## Faith is not afraid of failure; rather it uses it as a springboard to success.
Remember: World changers are risk takers. Your faith is tested the most in difficult times.
This THURSDAY may your obedience of faith TURN everything around in your favor, in Jesus name!
