So his fellow servant fell down… and BEGGED him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ And he would not, but went and THREW HIM INTO PRISON till he should pay the debt. – Matthew 18:29-30 (Emphasis mine).
REFERENCE
Matthew 18:21-33
Why does forgiven humanity find it hard to forgive humanity? Truly, we have no justification to not forgive anybody, considering what God has forgiven us and daily forgives us. If we must be successful in all our relationships, we must learn to forgive quickly and to forgive all. That’s the pattern we have learnt from Jesus.
We sinned against God and were deserving of judgment or punishment, but He forgave all. Today, when we still sin… no matter how grievous…. all we do is ask for His forgiveness and that is it! In an instant, we are considered guiltless, forgiven and absolved of all charges. Why can’t we do the same for one another?
He to whom much is forgiven must forgive much and we must learn to forgive others as God, in Christ Jesus forgave us. It may be tough, but “LET IT GO!”
Remember, there can be no true and abiding love without forgiveness and there can be no lasting friendship without forgiveness.
Who do you need to forgive? Friends, spouse, parents, boss, etc.? DO IT NOW!
Make a commitment to show TENDERNESS towards others this THURSDAY!
