Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! – Psalm 34:8
REFERENCE
Psalm 34:1-8
David had encountered the goodness of God in different areas of his life at different times and he is basically advertising that God is a good God, but he says you have to “taste” Him to really know His goodness. When David said in this passage to “taste,” he was saying, ‘have a personal experience and knowledge of God.’
Why does David want you to know that God is a good God? Because when you truly know ‘God as a good God’ (not an over-used cliché), that revelation will forever change your perspective on life; you will not be afraid of what life throws at you, neither will you be afraid of what tomorrow holds, because you will come to that place of total trust in God.
Unfortunately, some are in bitterness today because they went through or are going through a challenging period in their lives and they can’t seem to understand how a ‘good God’ will allow bad things happen to them. This is logical reasoning, but, man still lives in a fallen world and a lot of factors in this world e.g. satanic manipulations, ungodly practices, ignorance, etc, all contribute to the challenges man faces in life. Yet, God is good not because of our circumstances but because that is His nature.
It is easy to forget how good He is when things are not going according to your plans, but If you look closely, you can see His goodness in your health, family, career, safety, daily supplies, etc. Today, choose to believe and trust God’s heart for you, He is forever MINDFUL of you and He will turn what the enemy meant for evil for your good.
May you enjoy encounters of God’s MAGNANIMITY this Monday!
