And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth – Deuteronomy 8:18
REFERENCE
Deuteronomy 8:11-18
If you must rise above the present financial situation in the world, you must make God your source. You must look beyond your salary, your connection, your shop, your business, your organization, etc. All these are avenues for God to connect with you but God is not limited to them and cannot be limited by them in keeping you above and beyond the status quo.
God declares here that He is the One who gives you the POWER (capacity, means, ability) to get wealth; this means, GOD IS ALL YOU NEED TO HAVE ALL YOUR NEEDS MET! Perhaps, you may be tempted to ask, “Why did God make such an audacious statement?” The reason is not farfetched; Scripture explains it all. For example, Psalm 50:10 shows that He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, Haggai 2:8 reveals that, the silver and gold belong to Him and Philippians 4:19 makes us understand that He is able to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory, etc.
Although you can experience a level of success without God, however, His ‘prosperity’ is all-round and it is only His blessing that lasts, outlives you, and makes you rich with no added sorrow (Proverbs 10:22).
So how do you make God your source? Firstly, be ready to get out of your old ways and mindsets. God may not want you to do things the way you’ve always done them or the way ‘others’ are doing them (Genesis 12:1-3). Secondly, take your eyes off people. Oftentimes, God uses people to meet needs, but you must realize that they are only a channel and not the source, so stop depending on them. Thirdly, be sensitive to His instructions and obey them, and finally, make God your only option. Acknowledge Him in all your ways; get Him involved at every point of a project or endeavor. Let Him know that it is His way and no other way. God gets committed when He knows He is your only OPTION (Proverbs 3:5-6).
God is El-Shaddai, He can cause ravens to feed you in famine and He knows which fish of the sea He can command to bring you goodies. Who will you rather make your SOURCE?

PRAYER POINT
+ Ask God to deliver you from every support system He has not permitted in your life, i.e. everything that you place your hope and expectation in that is not God.
+ Pray for the anointing of El-Shaddai, the anointing that turns not enough into more than enough, to BREATHE upon you and whatever you do this year.
I’m learning to daily make God my source. The temptation to look at my job, salary and circle of influence is so strong, yet I know that if only I can take my eyes off everything else and focus on God, I’d be the happiest person on earth. This is apt. Thank you Pastor.
It’s only God’s blessings that lasts forever. I’m blessed of the Lord.
