BE BOLD, CALL IT!

God called Gideon, “Mighty man of valor,” when all things around him were not adding up, but rather falling apart; it looked like a contradiction. God has a way of talking to us about where we are going to, and not what we are going through. We see this play out in the life of the patriarch Abraham; God called him “Father of many nations” even when it was seemingly impossible for him to bear children (Genesis 17:1-5).

In the same way, God looks at you too today in the midst of your inadequacies – lack, fears, worries, joblessness, heartaches, health problems, etc., and calls you that name you think you cannot bear (landlord/landlady, mother, father, wife, husband, philanthropist, CEO, etc.). God sees you as a person of great prospects and prosperity because He knows your end from the beginning. The future you are unsure about is already in His past; and in His goodness, He has made it bright and beautiful for you.

When God needed light in Genesis 1:3, He didn’t speak about the darkness that was all over the face of the earth. He simply said “Let there be light!” Sure enough, light came forth from the realm where God called it, into the physical realm. We must learn to emulate God in calling what we want to see in our lives. The fact that we don’t yet see the things we want doesn’t mean they don’t exist in the invisible realm. When we call things that are not as though they are, we are not merely chanting; rather, we are giving voice to our beliefs and acting as our Father.

Talking about or meditating on your problem will not solve it. However, as you faithfully comply and call ‘things to be which be not,’ God will also hasten to perform His Words in your life.
