Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent…Now therefore, come, let us go and tell the king’s household.” II Kings 7:9
REFERENCE
II Kings 7:3-11
The word ‘Evangelism’ is from the Greek word ‘Evangélio’ which means gospel – ‘GOOD NEWS!’ Evangelism is important because it is the heart of Jesus that the whole world hears the gospel and gets saved; but they cannot hear unless someone tells them. An unbeliever cannot do the job of reconciling the world back to God. Believers are the only ones that have been given the ministry of reconciliation; and they are the only ones that can spread the good news to a dying world because they have tasted of God’s goodness.
From today’s passage, we saw how God took the four lepers from penury to prosperity and humiliation to honor, and how they decided to spread the good news of God’s goodness to others. The thought-provoking appraisal they made of their condition was: “This day is a day of good news.” Wow! “This day!” They considered that that day, not the next, was the time to share the good news and that it would be unrighteous to remain silent and not share the good news.
In the same way, every day we wake up and experience God’s brand-new mercies, is a day of good news – not the next day. Therefore, TODAY is the day of good news! Please be instructed that no believer is exempt from sharing the good news; if God has ever shown you mercy, favor, answered your prayers, healed, delivered or given you peace of mind, etc., then you qualify to spread the good news. Also, it is wrong, as seen from the lepers’ reaction, to not share the ‘Light’ with people in darkness, or to not show the ‘Way’ to those who are lost – it is unfair to be indifferent to a hopeless world when we have the remedy for their malady.
Therefore, we must make the good news of Jesus’ salvation Breaking News (the most significant story of the moment) to those we encounter daily so that it is not swept aside as unimportant. This good news can’t wait. It can’t wait because certain people will make decisions based on it. Somebody’s life or wellbeing depends on it.
Don’t let irrelevant news dominate the airwaves of your life and of those around you. Every other thing can wait but we must break the good news… Become a bringer of ‘Good News’ today!

TO DO
Write down a workable plan on how you will spread the good news to those around your sphere of influence, then pray over it and ask God to prosper your plan.
Testifying and sharing the goodness of God in my life is my own little way of spreading the good news!
I receive grace to spread the good news always, Amen!
I receive grace Lord to spread the good news to those I encounter daily, so help me God. Amen!
O Lord, put the right word in my mouth so I can speak to your people,
use me as a vessel of honor and make me a blessing to many in Jesus name , Amen!
