“Why do You stand afar off, O LORD? Why do You hide in times of trouble?” ~ Psalm 10:1
REFERENCE
Psalm 10:1-6 & 16-18
Sometimes, we go through experiences in life that make us feel God is deliberately hiding from us. We question if He is still there and if He is, why is He allowing us to go through such painful experiences and not answering our prayers? Jesus, God’s Son, felt the same way when He cried out on the cross, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani” (My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me). For the first time, the Son could not sense the Father’s presence or get answers to His prayers.
So, why does God ‘stand afar off’ in trouble? The suggestion would be that there is a greater purpose. He sees the gain after the pain. Often, God is after the development of Christian character and patience in us, and trials sometimes come for the maturation of our faith. At other times, He wants us to know that He is more important than things and that man must not live by bread alone, but by God’s word. Jesus understood that there was joy before Him, so He endured the cross; David saw that his affliction turned him into a bible student (Psalm 119:71).
If we don’t go through periods of chastening, then we will not be true sons, for every legitimate son is chastised by his father and sometimes will have ‘goodies’ withheld by his parent for a season. God seems to hide in times like this because correcting a child and cuddling him send conflicting messages.
Listen, “He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you,” Hebrews 13:5. So, even in the trying and testing seasons of life, God is still there. He ensures the test is not beyond measure, that it only bends you but never breaks you; He restrains the devil that he may not hurt you; He turns His back temporarily as a Father, so you can grow through what you go through.
So, where is God? He is still ever-present, He is still working all things for your good, His love for you has not reduced in intensity and His plans and purpose for you are all still on schedule. These present light afflictions that you go through are temporary and they are WORKING FOR YOU a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory

MY PRAYER FOR YOU:
I don’t know what you may be going through right now and what God is after/doing in your life, but I pray that God will show you tokens of His love, to let you know He is near. I pray for you for patience and endurance to inherit all that God has for you. I pray that God will hasten the ‘due season’ for your miracle, so you will not have to wait any longer than His love permits. I commend you to the love of our merciful Father, that He will not allow your feet to stumble, in Jesus name. I SEE EVERYTHING TURNING AROUND IN YOUR FAVOR!
