So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6

To wind up our series on the Eagle, we will look at #lesson five, how eagles work with the wind, a time-tested secret that gives them the advantage over other birds in the air. Eagles are keen students of the wind and its currents; they know how to wait for the right move of the wind. While other birds rush out in the cool morning frantically flapping their wings to gain altitude, and thereby exerting so much energy, the eagle waits for warm wind currents which rise upward before they launch out.
The eagle spreads its large broad wings and lets the currents to carry it, helping it soar effortlessly higher and higher through the air. Reliance on the thermals (rising columns of warm air), helps the eagle to conserve energy, seldomly flapping its wings excessively to gain height. Instead, the eagle uses the thermals to ascend to great heights.
Luke introduces the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2 as the sound of a mighty rushing wind. Genesis says He’s the breath (wind) of God. Just as the warm wind helps eagles soar effortlessly, the Holy Spirit empowers believers to soar in the arena of life and gives them effortless victories. A struggling believer is the one who has not learnt to yield to the Spirit’s ‘wind’, letting Him guide and blow their lives in the direction of victory, of good health and of a sound mind. This has resulted in so much ‘flapping’ amongst many – living a life characterized by struggle and sweat, with no commensurate fruit or reward for labor.
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, His ministry is to guide believers into all truths, to help us in our weakness, intercede for us, give us wisdom, and empower us to succeed and live victoriously. He is our advocate, our Senior Partner and Strengthener. He inspires us with great ideas and solutions to problems; He enables us to execute missions and projects that are beyond our human faculties. Zerubbabel experienced this first hand; the Holy Spirit empowered him supernaturally with wisdom, creativity and executive abilities to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. His human limitations were suspended and taken over by the Holy Spirit.
God does not want you to serve Him in your own strength or to make it by your own strength. He has supplied the Holy Spirit as the ‘wind beneath your wings,’ blowing you towards your destiny. Acknowledge Him in all you do, and watch yourself soar effortlessly into the great heights God has prepared for you.

CONFESSION
I have been born anew by the Holy Spirit. I am not an ordinary human being. The Spirit that formed the universe and raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me. The Spirit’s wind blows in me and around me; therefore, I am limitless and unstoppable. I succeed where others fail, I go beyond where others stop and I excel where others fall short. Today, I renew my strength like the eagle’s, in Jesus name – Amen!
