“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes.” – Isaiah 54:2.

God is ready to do something new in your life. He says, “Enlarge the place of your tent and spread out;” that is, make room for more in your mind. Hold nothing back, and increase your capacity to receive bigger and better from God. Do away with small thinking and timid goals. God wants the second half of the year to be the better half of the year for you. You must be prepared to dare new things, believe for better things, and be open to new ideas from God.

Apple iPhone 13 is an improved version of the iPhone 8. It is, in a figure, an ‘enlarged tent.’ Its design, operating system, battery life, memory (RAM), camera, etc., are all better. They are both iPhones, but one cannot hold a candle to the other. God consistently works to make us better as we journey in life until the glory of our latter is greater than that of our former. Although iPhone 13 is great, there may be versions 14 and 15 in the works. With God, your best is yet to come; there are better versions of you yet to be revealed. You will yet see God’s goodness revealed in your life.

Enlarge your tent for the greater and better things God is ready to do by investing in yourself. Pray and study the word more, read books, build your faith, eliminate negative talk and self-doubt, and begin to see yourself as qualified for God’s best gifts and graces. If you don’t prepare yourself (or increase your capacity), you will limit how much God can pour into you. God did not move the Israelites straight from Egypt into Canaan, although He had promised. He took them through the wilderness so they could develop into a nation with a government, laws, an army, and leadership and social structure. Your promotion is connected to your preparation.

Zechariah 2:4-5 pictures God’s plan. He said Jerusalem would be inhabited as a city without walls. It means God wants all your limiting walls removed so that you would not be defined by them. Embrace Him as your glory, and your capacity for growth will be limitless. You may look back with regret at your academic qualifications or your family of origin, but because of God’s ever-increasing glory within you, a greater you will emerge. You may be jobless now, wondering what good can come out of your life, but an organization feeding families can emerge from you. So, enlarge your tent, extend your reach and open your borders, a Greater glory awaits you.
