“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
REFERENCE:
As long as we are in this world, we will go through unpleasant ordeals, setbacks, troubles, or pain. We do not pray to have troubles, but troubles show up one way or the other because this world lies under the sway of the wicked one, an imperfect world with imperfect people. Jesus said that in this world, trouble ‘will’ come, but it doesn’t have to destroy you. Cheer up!
Jesus promises us hope and help in times of trouble. It is because He has bruised the head of the serpent who rules the darkness of this world, satan. Jesus destroyed satan’s power on the cross of Calvary and removed the sting from his bite; hence, we can expect not to be overcome by trouble or permanently handicapped by a setback. Cheer up; you have victory in Christ.
Trouble brings worry, anxiety, panic, discomfort, and inconvenience. The devil’s plan is for trouble to sweep you off your feet, keep your focus off God, paralyze you with fear, and make you quit on God, yourself, and life. But Jesus says, “Cheer up!” Troubles don’t last; whatever you are going through will pass. It is not the time to backslide, stop attending church, or abandon your faith. The One who overcame the world lives in you; you will overcome too.
Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.“ The way to find peace and cheer up in trying times is to go back to the things that Jesus has spoken in His word. “Fear not, for I am with you…I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:10). “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned…” (Isaiah 43:2).
Cheer up! Nothing the world throws at you can destroy you if you don’t let it. Stay in the word of God. Declare the victory of Jesus Christ with your mouth and maintain a grateful, joyful heart. To overcome is to succeed in dealing with a problem or difficulty. Jesus has succeeded in dealing with the world’s problems. What you are going through shall pass, and you will emerge victorious. Let not your heart be troubled nor be discouraged; cheer up!

“Greater is He Who is in me than he who is in the world, therefore the problems of the world are incapable of destroying me. I declare boldly, that I am an overcomer, God is for me and no evil can win against me in Jesus’ name.”
