“So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days.” – 1 Kings 17:15
REFERENCE:
Faith is one concept in the bible that makes those who act in faith appear crazy or foolish. Faith believes in a God it does not see and acts in ways that do not make logical sense. Faith made childless Abram change his name to Abraham (father of nations), and Peter walk on water. It takes crazy faith to live a life that pleases God because He will often ask you to do the unlikely.
When faith has a word from God, it is ready to take risks and do what many may consider crazy. The widow took a chance based on the word of God by Elijah. It did not make sense that she should give a prophet her family’s last meal, but faith believes God’s word to the point of acting on it. She went ahead and gave Elijah. It was not convenient, but it was crucial for her sustenance. Faith is rarely convenient; it puts a demand on you and calls you to actions of obedience.
It takes faith to act like it is so when it is not so; however, in acting so, it becomes so. Faith will call you to do the illogical, insane, ‘stupid,’ and ridiculous. When praying for the sick and they say, “Do what you cannot do,” that is faith calling you to do something crazy. See how faith works: “The facts may not change before you act, but you need to act to change the facts.”
It is crazy faith that makes someone give tithes and offerings to God when they do not have enough to take care of their needs. Faith calls you to commence a project when you don’t have all the money to complete it. It keeps you from committing illegality, although everyone around you is doing it because you know God will take care of you. God has given you a measure of faith; take risks and exercise your faith because, without faith, you cannot please God.
The widow applied crazy faith and received a ‘crazy’ supply. Her household lacked no food for the three years of famine. Looking at the global economy, we need faith more than ever to connect with the economy of heaven. God was displeased with Israel because they lacked faith in His ability to supply their needs (Psalm 78:20-22). Do not let your present need stop you from trusting God. Crazy faith says, “My God shall supply all my needs by His grace.”
