“He who scatters has come up before your face. Man the fort! Watch the road! Strengthen your flanks! Fortify your power mightily.” – Nahum 2:2
REFERENCE:
In our text, God warns Nineveh that ‘he who scatters’ had come and that they should man the fort, watch the road, strengthen their flanks, and fortify themselves. Today, it is a call to us to be alert and ready to fight back when life throws you into situations that steal from you and drain you. It is a call to vigilance because if you don’t, life can rob you of everything that matters.
Pictured as the scatterer and the emptier is the devil. He scatters families, churches, friends, etc. He also empties people of their worth and value and ruins their character and personality. He empties homes of their peace, unity, and, sometimes, the lives therein. He empties youths of their dreams, destinies, courage, confidence, talents, and time. He is the ‘thief’ who comes to steal, kill and destroy; that is his ‘method of operation.’
Do you feel like the ‘emptier’ is having a field day in your life? Have you had to grapple with loss recently? Have you experienced the unfortunate event of watching something you built waste? Job witnessed the wrath of the scatterer-emptier devil. He lost all his property in about just a day, in quick succession. The only thing is that Job never resisted the scatterer. The good thing in our text is that God promised restoration; so that you will win.
Restoration is putting something back to its original state. God promised to restore Nineveh to her former state of excellence after they had suffered at the hands of their emptiers. God will not let you be permanently emptied or battered by challenges. He will restore double what the emptier steals from you. But this will happen because you fight back and resist the emptier.
So, whenever you see traces of the scatterer in your life, fervently resist him; don’t be deceived into thinking that maybe God wants to teach you a lesson by allowing it in your life. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, so He couldn’t possibly endorse the work of the one He came to destroy. Resist the scatterer; that is the only way to live a life of restoration and fulfillment.

PRAYER:
+ I stand up and resist the works of the scatterer; it manifests in my life and family.
+ I commit all that I hold dear into the able hands of God to help me keep and sustain them.
+ I demand a restoration of whatever I have lost to the ministry of the scatterer, in Jesus’ name.
