“The end of a thing is better than its beginning; the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.” ~Ecclesiastes 7:8
REFERENCE:
As the year draws to a close, be reminded that God has been faithful; it is a great time to thank Him for His many blessings, grace, and protection. Only eternity will help us appreciate the things God does for us daily: many averted disasters, angelic protection, and the orchestration of events in our favor. God’s modus is from glory to glory. I am very optimistic about the coming months, just as Solomon said by inspiration, “The end will be better…”
In a marathon race, the runners start all huddled together. As the race progresses, distance increases between them; some begin to lag or drop out because of exhaustion or injury. As the race draws to a close, the sheer exhaustion and tiredness of the runners become evident; they look so worn and tired that one wonders if they can go for just ten feet.
Suddenly, as they reach the beginning of the final lap, a bell rings, and the supposedly tired and worn-out athletes receive a new burst of energy. They start to run as though they just started the race. They unexpectedly transform from long-distance runners to sprinters and begin to cover longer distances in shorter times. The nearness to the finish line fills them with fresh strength, hope, and excitement, and a wave of possibility floods their minds.
Let the picture of the year’s finish line renew your strength and faith. A miracle awaits you before the year ends; don’t despair. There is more in and for you; God is not done with you. Don’t give up or lose courage; dig deep and pull out your creativity and determination. God has a surprise for you; stop complaining. Who says God can’t still do what you expect? Who says you still can’t get a job, a financial turnaround, or start a relationship?
In the same vein, no matter where you are in life – what you have lost, your setbacks, mistakes, bad decisions, or failure, God is saying to you today, “The end will be better.” Don’t let the devil lie to you that you are stuck and your case is beyond God’s mercy. God still has pleasant surprises for you. Stay in the game; be prayerful, thankful, and expectant. The end of the matter will be better and sweeter than the beginning – you will end well, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER:
Thank You, Father, for Your love, mercy, and faithfulness that have brought me thus far. Despite the setbacks I have experienced in life, I will end well by Your grace. My end will be better than my beginning. I declare the same for the year; it will end better than it started for me. By faith, I boldly declare that “My end shall be better, sweeter and greater in Jesus’ name.”
