“Our God is the God of salvation; And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death.” – Psalm 68:20
REFERENCE:
“If you cannot thank God for what you received, thank God for what you escaped.” When we get to heaven, and God shows us our lives on earth, we will see many things that God protected and saved us from that we knew nothing about; we will realize that while we cried about things we wished we had, there were tragedies that God spared us from that could have been fatal.
God is the God of salvation who orchestrates our escapes. Someday, you will realize that He made you escape food poisoning, ensured you came to a spot on the road after a robbery, prevented you from being defrauded when you almost paid for a property, etc. Only eternity will tell how many demonic spiritual forces were fought back by God’s angels while you slept.
If you are reading this, you are a victor. You stand today because the Lord has been on your side, or else the problem at work would have swallowed you up, the money lost in the investment would have sunk you, and the betrayal would have ruined everything you built over the years. When your tire gave way while speeding, and the car went off the road, it would have been the end, but the Lord stood by you, caused you to escape, and to witness a great deliverance.
What did you escape this year? What was that situation that was so bad but God rescued you from? Did you have a near accident or a bad sickness? Were you almost robbed or defrauded? Was there a time you thought the situation with your child at school would lead to something terrible, but it didn’t? If you never slept on a hospital bed this year, be thankful for escapes.
Regardless of your story, take time to be thankful for escapes. If the devil had his way, the story could have been different, but thanks be to God, who did not give you as prey to the teeth of the devil. Open your mouth and declare with David, “My God is the God of salvation (deliverance, rescue, redemption & healing); and unto Him belong escapes from death.
