“For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall.” ~ Psalm 18:29
REFERENCE:
You probably are not familiar with the word ‘diffidence.’ Still, it is responsible for why achieving your goals has been difficult. It is the opposite of confidence. It is hesitancy in acting or speaking through a lack of self-confidence. It is self-doubt, shame, or sheepishness. The voice that tells you that you are not fit, the rope that pulls you back anytime you attempt to venture, is diffidence.
Like many of us, I often deal with diffidence, so God gave me this scripture some years ago, and I made it into a confession. I will write the confession below from the very mouth of David, who discovered how to win diffidence by leaning on and trusting in God. THE CONFESSION:
By You, O Lord, I can run against a troop, and I can leap over a wall. Because I trust in You, You are a shield to me. The Lord is my rock. He arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet stable like the feet of a deer and sets me in high places. The Lord teaches my hands to make war so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. The Lord equips me with His shield of salvation, holds me up with His right hand, and gives me ample room to maneuver.
I pursue my enemies and overtake them; I do not turn back until they are destroyed. They have fallen under my feet, are wounded, and will not rise again. O Lord, You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose against me. You have also given me the necks of my enemies so that I destroyed those who hated me. I beat them as fine as the dust before the wind; I cast them out like dirt in the streets.
You have delivered me from the strivings of the people; You have made me the head of the nations; A people I have not known shall serve me. As soon as they hear of me, they obey me; The foreigners submit to me. The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted. It is God who avenges me and subdues the people under me. He delivers me from my violent enemies and lifts me up above those who rise against me.
I make my boast in the Lord. I have strong confidence, self-esteem, positiveness, and good composure. I thank You, LORD, and I praise Your name. You have anointed me, delivered me, and shown me Your mercy. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
