“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” – Luke 2:14
REFERENCE:
Luke 2:6-14
More than having a company of trumpeters or an advanced party to herald Jesus’ coming, His coming signaled the end of pain and the commencement of victory. This good news came after four hundred dark years of no express revelation or communication from God. This birth of Jesus ended the enmity between God and man; that is why it brought goodwill toward men.
Goodwill means our God’s kindness, generosity, and favor towards mankind. God no longer holds man’s trespasses against him; the wrath of God incurred by the sin of Adam is appeased on man’s behalf, and the terms for lasting peace or end of hostilities have been met. Christmas is not just the celebration of the birth of a holy Child, but that man can now be a friend of God.
Jesus’s birth excited all of heaven; angels and stars sang of His arrival. God’s unmerited love for you and I was wrapped in swaddling clothes the day Jesus came. The Son of God visited us with all that pertains to salvation – healing for our bodily and soul diseases, hope for the hurting heart, freedom for those held bound by satan, and light for those who walk in darkness.
No man can curse you when you are in God’s favor. No one can be against you when God is for you, and it does not matter who thinks you are not ‘all that’ when God extends goodwill to you. When you have goodwill toward someone, you are ready to bend over to help them; if you can, you will stop any harm from coming to them. My dear friend, God’s goodwill is toward you.
I decree a reversal of any bad luck, misfortune, enmity, or malice that satan may be directing at you now; I uproot them. I arrest every thought that suggests that you are not good enough or God is displeased with you; they are lies, and I declare that they shall not stand. On this Christmas day, receive favor for disappointments, joy for pain, hope for despair, beauty for ashes, and restoration for every loss, in Jesus’ name. Rejoice, God’s goodwill is toward men!
Have a Merry Christmas!
