“And it shall be that the rod of the man whom I choose will blossom…” ~ Numbers 17:5
REFERENCE:
Numbers 17:1-8
The text before us reveals one of God’s great miracles of the Old Testament. It is the kind of miracle where God takes an everyday process of nature and quickens it. Typically, a fruitful rod is achieved through planting, but God expedited the process; the same was true when He turned water into wine. In an instant, He did something that nature could achieve over time.
The tribes of Israel (Reubenites – Dathan and Abiram) rebelled against the authority of Moses and Aaron, claiming that they should not consider themselves to be better than the rest of them and that they were all holy and equally anointed. God dealt with these men by letting the earth swallow them. Still, this next sign would forever settle the dispute about Aaron’s authority.
They brought dry rods to represent their families, writing the name of each family head on his rod, and laid them before the Ark of Testimony in the Tabernacle. God said that the rod of the man He chose would blossom. There were twelve rods, but by morning, when they returned, Aaron’s rod had sprouted, put forth buds, produced blossoms, and yielded ripe almonds.
One of the ways God attests to His presence and blessing upon a man is to give him uncommon fruitfulness in every area of His life. The presence of fruits silenced the dispute about Aaron’s authority. When people question your faith or deride your prayer life, fruits can silence them. When you are fruitful, those who once mocked you will hush when they see you and join in celebrating you. God said, “I have not called the seed of Jacob to seek me in vain.” Be fruitful!
Just as the fruits on Aaron’s rod distinguished it from those of his peers, may God raise you above your contemporaries by fruitfulness. May you bear fruits in your body, mind, business, family life, and academics. If all you have known is dryness and barrenness, I declare that your dry rod will be fruitful. Let fruitfulness silence every contention about God’s love for and commitment to you. In 2024, let the fruitful rod remind you that you will be fruitful.

PRAYER:
+ Lord, I present the ‘dry rod’ of my life to you, cause it to bear fruits.
+ Lord, breathe upon every dry area of my life and tell me supernatural fruitfulness.
+ Lord, expedite Your work of fruitfulness in my life. Let what would take months be done in weeks, in Jesus’ name.
