“For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.” ~ I Timothy 5:18

Faith without works is dead, and in the same way, a vision without action is just mere wishing or good planning without good working is nothing. Collin Powel said, “A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” Furthermore, Thomas Jefferson said, “I’m a great believer in luck, but I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.”
Hard work is another scripture secret to success. We live in a world where many want quick wealth or wealth without labor. There is nothing in God’s divine order as success before work, except in the dictionary (alphabetically). God believes in work; He worked at creation for six days. Jesus said, “I must work the works of Him who sent Me.” Hard work is essential.
You must work hard to bring out what God has put in you. “Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration” ~ Thomas Edison. Work like you believe what God showed you will come to pass. Proverbs 22:29 says, “Do you see a man who is diligent in his work, he will stand before kings…” Laziness is on the increase today. It has given rise to all sorts of vices among the youths; instead of engaging in profitable ventures, they seek get-rich-quick schemes.
Have you noticed that ants are ever working, daily gathering food? Although small and feeble, they have ensured the survival of their species for eons through hard work. The example of the ant should challenge your laziness, for nobody ever made progress lying in bed. Life is about trade-offs; give something valuable to get something of more value – sleep, idle talks, binging on series on Netflix, some friendships, computer games, etc.
Pop culture star Michael Jackson was said (unconfirmed) to have rehearsed his dance steps for about 18 hours at a stretch. The rumor is that he had a reputation for practicing dance steps until he collapsed because his legs couldn’t work again. No wonder he was a dance legend on the stage, captivating millions of fans. Hard work guarantees success in any field.
Talent alone is not enough. A talented but lazy man will serve an untalented but hardworking man.
