“Therefore, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves…” ~ Ezekiel 37:12
REFERENCE:
Thank God for Easter. Christ died and rose victorious from the grave to reconcile man to his Maker. The real victory of Easter is the resurrection—the resurgence of Christ from the grave. If Jesus died and never rose, then of all men, we are the most miserable. However, His resurrection is a first-fruits promise that those of us in Christ shall also experience resurgence.
Resurgence is a revival after a period of little activity. Its essence can be captured in words like rebirth, recovery, revival, and resurrection. God sent Ezekiel to prophesy to the Israelites who were captives in Babylon. They were at a point of hopelessness, saying, “Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.” Their experience was like death and burial in the grave.
Ezekiel brought a message of resurgence to Israel: “God will open your graves, deliver you from captivity, restore you to your land, and put His Spirit in you.” It is like rising to life from death. God likened their state to scattered dry bones, yet He brought the bones together, put flesh on them, breathed into them, and raised them back to life. It is the most remarkable comeback analogy – resurgence at its best. Your case is not so hopeless that God cannot revive and restore you.
Jesus was put in the grave after His death on the cross. His disciples, like ancient Israel, felt cut off from God and hopeless, but on the third day, God’s Spirit revitalized the dead body of Jesus Christ; there was a resurgence, and He who was dead came back to life with more glory and authority than He had before His death. In God’s dictionary, resurgence is to make the glory of your latter greater than your former. When Job was restored, his end was better than his first.
God said this month will be a month of resurgence. There will be renewed activity in businesses that have died; barren wombs will suddenly carry a new life; a loved one on the bed of illness will jack back to life; there will be a spiritual revival and awakening, a new boost of love and joy will fill your marriage, and the oppressive spirit of depression and suicide will suddenly go away. You will come out of your ‘grave’ to commence your life’s best and greatest season. Amen!
