“But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.” ~ Luke 1:20
REFERENCE:
Have there been times when you left the place of prayer fully convinced that God had heard your prayers, only to say something like, “If only God would grant my requests,” a few moments later? Perhaps you received a prophetic word from church or a revelation from your time of Bible study. Still, no sooner than that encounter, you say things that negate the revelation. The mouth has the potential to sabotage a man; hence, it often needs to be muted for a miracle.
When Jesus taught His disciples about faith, He said, “Whosoever says to any tree to be removed and does not doubt in his heart, he will have what he says.” This is a powerful promise, one that holds the potential for miracles. It’s important to remember that doubt in the head is not a problem; a miracle can still happen. The real challenge is when doubt seeps into the heart because what’s in the heart will inevitably escape through the mouth.
Zechariah had prayed for years for a child; an angel was sent to Him from the Lord to grant his request. Although Zechariah was a priest and ministering to the Lord then, he doubted and besought the angel to ‘prove’ what he said. Shocked at his unbelief and the possibility of truncating his answers with his mouth, Zechariah was muted for the miracle to take place.
The angel muted Zachariah so as not to ‘spoil’ the testimony. We see the same pattern when Israel was to bring down Jericho’s wall. God told them to march around the walls for six days and to say nothing. If they were allowed to talk, the size of the wall to be brought down with just trumpet blasts would have terrified and intimidated them. Like the ten spies who brought a bad report about the promised land, they would have weakened the hands of the Lord’s soldiers.
Shut your mouth when your heart still struggles with unbelief because what you say will be words of unbelief, and without faith, it is impossible to please God; the world was framed by words; speak words that create what you want to see. If not, be muted for a miracle. Shut your mouth. Spend time building your faith more in the desired area. Get into the habit of listening to scripture so that you will speak in faith and boldness when you open your mouth.

PRAYER:
+ Lord set a guard over my mouth and a watcher over the door of my lips.
+ I receive the grace to be consistent in my believing and confessing. I believe, so I speak.
+ I open my mouth and make bold faith declarations in line with my expectations.
