Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours. – Genesis 37:3 KJV
Joseph had a coat of many colors given to him by his father. A symbol of his love for him as well as to show him his significance and uniqueness in life. Unlike an earthly father God doesn’t have favorites amongst his children, He loves us equally and has given each of us a coat of uniqueness that differentiate us from others.
Your coat of uniqueness is the color God put inside you, in form of talents and gifts. It is in the place of revealing your color (music, writing, acting, teaching, cooking, administrating, etc,) to nations, generations and all kinds of people that you add value to them and create a niche for yourself.
In His goodness, God gave you a color, a part of Himself to make you ‘STAND OUT’ in life. concentrate on that color, sharpen it to make it more colorful and use it for His glory.
The brothers of Joseph disliked him because of his coat; people may dislike you primarily because of your coat of uniqueness . But do not change who you are, remove your coat or try to fit in or be like another person; otherwise you will be saying to God He made a mistake when He made you, that what He did wasn’t good enough.
Psalm 139:14 & Matthew 5:14(MSG).
Pray for focus to concentrate on your uniqueness, wisdom to sharpen your gifts, ability to add value to others with your gifts and grace to bring glory to God with it.
