For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. – II Corinthians 4:17

Nobody is born qualified, so God must qualify us for our purpose. Eaglets are born, but Eagles are made. There is a period of preparation before we are released into our purposes. The magnitude and scope of your purpose will determine the intensity and duration of your preparation.

During the period of preparation, God passes us through all kinds of pressure so that we can be well equipped for the purpose. This is where a lot of us are right now. It looks as if nothing around you is working, but be rest assured; you are in God’s university of Preparation. Sometimes, when God wants to move a man into his purpose, He removes his props and comfort; more like what the mother eagle does to teach her eaglets how to fly. She pushes them out of the comfort of their nest, picks them before they fall to the ground and repeats the process until they can fly on their own.

In Genesis, an over pampered boy like Joseph had to be sold into slavery to be trained as an astute administrator. Moses, a prince of Egypt had to go take care of sheep in the wilderness for forty years to learn how to lead people. Jesus Christ, the Savior was in a carpenter’s shop for thirty years in preparation to fulfill His purpose, etc. At times, your preparation may just be that God will keep you on a job you wished you should change like yesterday. He wants you first to be fruitful in that place so you can excel when He elevates you to the next level. The trials and turbulence you are going through right now are your greatest tools for tomorrow. Therefore, you should fully embrace them and extract every benefit you can from them.

Losers focus on what they are going through, while champions focus on where they are going to. You need to walk around with the consciousness that God is concerned about you fulfilling your purpose, and He is behind the scenes of your life. Just live a yielded and submitted life unto Him and He will cause all things to work together for your good. Don’t let anybody make you feel bad about your present situation, you are presently in God’s University of Preparation, and you will graduate to fulfill your purpose.
