Not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men. – Ephesians 6:6-7
REFERENCE
Ephesians 6:5-8
As Christians, we should be guided by the principles in the Word of God concerning different aspects of life. As it regards the works of our hands or serving others, the Word of God recommends that we do it to please God; not our employers or those in authority over us, and definitely not in eye service.
Our assignment therefore is to do whatever God has placed in our hands to do, wholeheartedly; irrespective of whether it is noticed or not. We should be diligent and disciplined, not taking advantage of the system in which we work, or squander their time on frivolities, yet expect a salary at the end of the month.
God expects us to help our bosses/organization fulfill their vision; not make their work a drag, or add to their challenges.
Probably you are a diligent worker who serves in a place where people are not appreciative of all you do, and you wonder if it is worth it to keep putting in your best. Yes, it is worth it, because God notices. He keeps account of every service done to Him in obedience, love and faith. In due course, He will promote and bountifully reward you!
Have a wonderful weekend!
