For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest…’” Hebrews 4:3

REFERENCE
Hebrews 4:1-7

The year is just starting; God has given you a word for the year – promises of a great and bright future for you. The most vital thing you can do with the word God has given you for this season is to rest in it. How do you do that? By believing in the efficacy of the word and ceasing from all worry, anxiety and fear.

The writer of the book of Hebrews charged the children of Israel with fault; ‘they could not ‘enter’ into the land of promise because of their unbelief.’ So you see that unbelief is counter-productive and it only births fear and failure. For a believer, the blessedness of living in victory lies in their ability to believe the word of God.

Therefore, all I will say to you as a charge today is, “BELIEVE God’s word to you and rest in Him.” Psalm 127:2 says, “It is useless to work so hard for a living, getting up early and going to bed late. For the Lord provides for those he loves, while they are asleep.” (GNT) In other words, resting in God’s word, promise and power says to Him that you trust Him to do what He would do; that He can do without the arm of flesh to perform His counsels. He loves that, for nothing pleases Him more than to be believed, and nothing displeases Him more than to be disbelieved.

Your rest in Him moves Him to take over, then He makes sure your needs are abundantly supplied – remember that Adam had to be put to ‘sleep’ (had to be in a place of rest in God) before God could give Him his wife.

“All things are possible to them that believe!” (Mark 9:23). If you will labor at all this year, let it be to labor to enter into God’s rest.
