Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.’ – Matthew 16:17

Matthew 16:13-17
As you go through life, certain philosophical questions will always plague your mind, and the way you answer them will determine the direction or outcome of your life. One such question is: “Who am I?”
“Who am I?” for a believer, is a question of your identity in Christ. This is deeper than your tribe, academic qualification, background, etc. God does not want you to define yourself by these physical things, neither does He want you to define yourself by what you have or do not have. (Luke 12:15).
When Jesus asked His disciples this question about His identity, they gave different answers, but He chose Peter’s because that came as a revelation from God. In the same way, the right answer to the question of “who you are” can only be revealed in light of the scriptures, not according to the world’s standards. The world tries to define you by your experiences, which is a strategy from the pit of hell to put a price tag on you and limit you, but you are bigger than your experiences.
God has revealed in the scriptures that:
You have your origin in Him – (1 John 4:4)
You are a new creation in Christ Jesus – (II Corinthians 5:17).
You are a joint-heir with Jesus Christ – (Romans 8:17).
You are unique – (1 Peter 2:9).
So, do not belittle yourself but walk in the understanding of who you are. Many Christians have been seduced and incapacitated by the thought of low self-worth, because of pressures from the world. However, the effectiveness of your Christian life will only be in accepting who God says you are.

CONFESSION:
I declare I am who God says I am. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am deeply loved by God. I am blessed and highly favored. Whatever I put my hands to do prospers. Nothing else defines me but the word of God. I live victoriously on the earth because I am BORN TO WIN, in Jesus name.
