You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. – Psalm 102:13
REFERENCE
Psalm 102:13-16
Time is an all-important factor in fulfilling your purpose. A lack of understanding of timing can make you miss all that God has planned for you through discouragement or lack of proper discernment. Jerusalem did not recognize (could not discern) the time of her visitation in Jesus, and she still pays for it today (Luke 19:43-44).
There is a time allotted to the fulfillment of your purpose and when that time comes, everything will begin to fall in place.
Two dimensions to the time factor are: (a) the time of preparation for your purpose and (b) the duration of the fulfillment itself. For some people, their purpose spans a long period (Moses leading Israel out of Egypt for about 40 years). Some, it lasts for a season (Judges like Samson, Deborah, Gideon, etc.) and for some, it is just an event, but one that is significant enough to alter the course of history (Jonah’s preaching to the nation of Nineveh). It is God’s prerogative to take as much time as He deems fit to prepare you for your purpose…and to determine the duration and the scope of its fulfillment.
Most times when we are waiting for purpose to be fulfilled in particular areas of our lives, we begin to get frantic especially if we have waited for a long time. However, God told me one time, that rather than become frantic and anxious about the ‘time’ when my purpose will be fulfilled, I should instead be excited with each minute that passes because I am getting closer to the appointed ‘time.’
The devil in his usual manner will always come with his bag of tricks to try to convince you that your purpose won’t be fulfilled because of the length of time it has taken to come to pass. The next time he does, remind him of Elizabeth that fulfilled her purpose of being the mother of John the Baptist (the one that pointed the Lamb of God to mankind) at a ripe old age, but at the fullness of her time.
Your fullness of time will certainly come! When you are fully prepared to fulfill your purpose, God will cause the lines to fall in pleasant places for you at your set time, not before.
