Another hindrance to faith is inconsistency in waiting on God. The waiting period is very important. While God uses it to develop your resolve and your faith, the devil uses it to derail you by creating doubt in your heart. Naturally, no one likes waiting. It tests one’s patience, zeal, consistency and determination. So, it’s easy for the devil to feed on that by bringing doubt.
We tend to quickly cast away our confidence; we start believing God, but when we do not see results quickly, we cease to believe – we lack staying power. God has been tried and tested; He never fails… So you can be rest assured that all He promised will come through, no matter how long it takes. However, you have to be consistent in your faith.
You will reap the dividends of faith only if there is consistency of belief and confession. Do you still believe and hope for what you asked for 6 months ago? Are you still actively praying and confessing that matter, or have you quit and given up?
The double minded man cannot receive anything from God. You cannot make progress in your faith walk if you are up one day and down the other with how you believe God. The devil knows that it’s only through faith you can obtain anything from God, so his main purpose, like we established before, is to stop your faith from maturing and producing results.
You need to trust in God; know that He will never fail you and that whatever He said He will do will come to pass. Once that is settled, nothing the devil brings your way can make your faith waver.
Reward only comes in the end, if you do not quit.
