“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?” – Isaiah 43:19a

Listen to God speak to you; “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep rehashing history. God wants to do something new in your life; it will suddenly burst forth, and all eyes will see it.” Today marks the beginning of a turnaround in your life; your new begins today. All will be okay in the end! If it is not okay, it is not yet the end, for our God is a God of happy endings.

Yesterday, we saw that when God spoke to King Hezekiah, King Ahaz, and Paul while at sea, He painted to them a picture of the future and of the new thing He would yet do. Although confronted with terminal and hopeless situations, God promised them a new beginning. No matter how bad what now assails you is, it cannot restrain God from bringing a new thing out of it. Beyond your current state, there is hope, victory, and fulfillment of purpose.

What assured these men of a new beginning was their hearing from God, through a prophet or directly; the word of God was the game-changer. When Lazarus was in the grave, his sisters heard the voice of God, “This is not the end; your brother shall rise again; he will have a new beginning.” God never runs out of options and is never intimidated by the finality a bad experience seems to portend; He can bring beauty from ashes, life out of death, water out of a rock or in a desert, and open a door that satan and his agents have shut. He can give new beginnings, do new things and create happy endings; just don’t let your history kill your destiny.

Isaiah’s prophecy would have meant comfort to his audience, a people in captivity dealing with losses, oppression, and desperate for release. God reminded them not to allow former things to stop them from believing in new things. Your tomorrow does not have to mimic your past or that of anyone in your family. God can start anew with you. He can create a new order, business, career, family, story, etc., with you. For you, He will make a road in the desert, rivers in the wastelands, islands on the sea; He will do a new thing; do you perceive it, can you see it?

I prophesy: that rejection will birth a new direction for you. From losses, you will receive plenty; you will experience a new thing in your career, projects, studies, and dating relationship. God will make what looks like an end to give you a fresh start – a new beginning. Your present success is just a foretaste of future successes; this is not the end; new doors and opportunities are opening to you; it gets better from here. Welcome to a new beginning.

+ Lord, irrespective of all I have been through, I know Your plans for me will continue uninterrupted. New beginnings and new things are ahead of me as innovative opportunities, exposure, miracles, and mind-blowing testimonies.

+ ‘This phase’ is just an interlude; my life continues…it will end well because there are new things ahead for me. It is my turn, and I will shine bright in Your Glory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
