REFERENCE:
God is not a respecter of persons but a respecter of principles. What He does for one, He will do for another if they follow the same steps. Wherever God sees faith, He extends a blank cheque for men to fill. From a place of anxiety and desperation, the Nobleman received healing for his dying son. God can do the same for you, no matter how dire your situation is; but how did this miracle happen for this man? Let us consider our text and learn lessons that will build our faith.
a. My Child Dies: The challenges of life are common to men. People deal with issues that agitate their hearts and need desperate intervention. Don’t despair because of that issue; there is hope and help in God. Take the matter to Jesus; He can even stop death.
b. You Need Faith: Jesus said, don’t wait till you see before believing; it is by believing that you see. Doubt often arises in our hearts at first sight of trouble, but like the Nobleman, you must switch to faith. Faith is the conductor cable that connects you to the miraculous.
c. Nothing is Incurable: We call a sickness ‘incurable’ because men have not found the cure for it; it does not mean it is incurable. Before antibiotics, ear infections killed children. So, with God, there is a cure for all sicknesses. He is the balm in Gilead, the Great Physician.
d. No Distance in the Spirit: The man wanted Jesus to come, but it didn’t matter to Jesus. His word travels through time and space to accomplish His will. His physical presence limited Him then, but His word knows no barrier. It can cross borders and seas to mend a sick man.
e. God’s Integrity: Faithful is He who promised, who also will do it. God says what He means and does what He says; He is too faithful to fail. A man is as good as His words. God has tried His word seven times in heaven’s furnace. You can trust God to do His work in you.
f. God’s Word Settles It: Resolution happens when God speaks; you may not see fruits instantly, but they will come to pass. On getting home, the Nobleman realized that his son had gotten better at the time Jesus spoke. You may not see the manifestation immediately, but things happen when God speaks. Your miracle was delivered when God gave you the promise. Lift your spirit, go back home, and maintain a spirit of gratitude.
Faith in God is the Master key. It opens the doors shut against my life, family, ministry, business, etc. Spend time to feed your spirit with the word. When faith comes, you know. Take these lessons to heart, practice them, and share them with others. Your miracle is here now – Amen.
