“…Behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His Star in the East and have come to worship Him.” ~ Matthew 2:1-2
REFERENCE:
Why would God let Persian stargazers see a star in the East when Jesus was born? This Star was meant to light up the world, bringing gentiles and the worst of sinners to the light of God. Jesus came at a time when man was lost, bound, hopeless, and in need of redemption. His came like a glass of cold water in a weary land to deliver us from our strong enemy and turn us to God.
This Star came into the dark places of our world and shone into the darkest of hearts; thus, we who once were not a people have become the people of God. He freed us from the blindness of darkness and became our light of life. His coming gave us the right standing with God and heralded every good and perfect gift imaginable – goodness, mercy, peace, love, and total well-being.
A star is a natural luminous (glowing) body visible in the sky, especially at night. In a play/show, a star is the principal performer, the center of attraction, or the focus of the play. The brightest Star in the sky announced Jesus’s birth. It was a phenomenal star, difficult for the Magi to miss. This Star of Wonder became the center of attraction in the sky; hence, the Magi followed it, concluding that a matchless king had been born amongst men – to change humanity forever.
This Star shone in the night sky for all to see, a message that Jesus was/is a gift for everyone. He is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, guiding us to the light of God’s purpose and the ultimate Light – God. He is the light that shines in the darkness that Peter charged us to embrace (II Peter 1:19). He brings revelation to the Gentiles and is the glory of God’s people (Luke 2:32).
Jesus’ most incredible gift to you is salvation. Have you accepted this gift yet? Will you receive Him today? If yes, pray this simple prayer. “Lord Jesus, I come to You, knowing that You came to shine Your light on me and redeem me from the power of darkness. You died and rose again to save me. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that You are my Lord and Savior. Thank You for accepting me in the beloved. I am free; I am born-again!”
