APRIL FULL

“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” – Psalm 118:24

Hooray, it is the first day of April! The world has a custom of playing practical pranks on people on the first day of April and they will shout, “April fool!” So, they call today “April fool’s day.”

We should instead get God’s perspective on the day and see it in a different light forever. Isaiah 8:12 (NIV) says, “Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.” That is, you must be careful not to follow the world’s trend and lose the many opportunities that God has programmed into the day through frivolity, because the universal law is that ‘you will have what you say.’

Today’s focus verse simply means that every day is the day the Lord has made. That means even the first day of April is the day the Lord has made, and we know from Genesis that all God created was (is) good. April first is a good day. It is a day loaded with God’s goodness, blessings, favor and mercy. It is a day endowed with great opportunities and potential victories for as many as would receive it as such. I see today as an open door to fullness of life and newness.

Encyclopedia Britannica says, “April’s name probably derives from the Latin aperire (“to open”), a possible reference to plant buds opening at this time of year in Rome.” April is known for beautiful spring weather; it is a time of springing forth of new plants. It is also the start of warmer weather, where the cold season is replaced with warmth. Also, on the Gregorian calendar, April coincides with the season that Jesus, the Passover Lamb, was sacrificed (popularly called Easter). Indeed, God in His wisdom has designed this beautiful month to be full of the blessings of the Lord, and I pray that they will be yours, in Jesus’ name.

May new and beautiful things spring forth in your life in this month. May doors you have been knocking on be ‘opened’ to you. May seasons of loneliness, shame, desperation and fear give way to times of refreshing and beneficial relationships. And may the blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, speak for you this month; may it protect you and your household and liberate you from every force of stagnation and all ungodly embargo over your progress and well-being, in the name of Jesus.

April is the month the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. This April is full of the blessings of the Lord. So, close your eyes, look into every day of the month and say, “APRIL FULL OF THE BLESSINGS OF THE LORD!”
