Listen to David. Having experienced God’s salvation from his enemies and seen how God put his adversaries to shame, he concluded, saying, “I will not trust in my bow, nor shall my sword save me.” He realized that his victory did not come from his bow, sword, or any military policy but from God. Excitedly, he decided to boast in God all day long; he turned on his bragging rights.
If you can look back at the last six months and see that, like David, it has not been your skills, gifts, ability, prowess, experience, or learning that has brought you to this point, and you have every reason to boast in God; declare God’s achievement and blessings in your life with excessive joy, pride, and satisfaction. You owe nobody any apology to say what God has done for you; if you are a product of His grace and mercy, you have bragging rights; make your boast in God.
David said I boast all day long. Thanksgiving is not a momentary thing we do; it is a way of life. It is not a one-day expression of emotionalism and tears. It is for every moment of our lives. As long as you have breath, sleep and wake up, go out and return home, eat and digest it, do not live on medication, etc., you have bragging rights. And if you think He hasn’t done much, still brag.
Many people don’t get excited about praising or bragging about God because they look at their medals and trophies and attribute their success to their swords, spears, smartness, skills, etc. They receive certificates of achievements, are nominated for awards, applauded as valedictorians, and celebrated for their successes; these things unknowingly blind men to God’s role in getting to those heights in school, business, politics, career, and general achievements.
We are of the tribe of praise (Judah). God’s praise should continually be in our mouths. You may not have had the best of the last six months, but your thanks tell God you still trust Him. Your bragging rights are not because of God’s actions but because of who God is. Let satan know you cannot be intimidated or silenced; loudly brag in the Lord all day today.
