“Any enterprise is built by wise planning, becomes strong through common sense, and profits wonderfully by keeping abreast of the facts.” – Proverbs 24:3-4 (Living Bible)
REFERENCE:
Proverbs 24:3-7 (TLB)
Before we leave this earth, we will all build something – a name, a family, a ministry, a business, or a house; in a sense, we are all builders. Certain things are critical when you want to build; a plan, resources, and foundation. What do you want to build, and how would it look? Can you fund it or sustain it? Are you willing to build it to last?
Many people have built things that looked beautiful, but they eventually collapsed – careers, ministries, marriages, brands, etc. The reason is a lack of the three elements I mentioned earlier: plans, resources, and foundation. Our text describes these as wise planning, common sense, and keeping abreast of the facts.
a. Wise Planning: To build anything, get a pen and paper, and write or draw. See it unfold before it unfolds. Seek God’s wisdom through His word for its outlook, style, resources, management, legal authorizations, and the people you need. Have short, medium, and long-term plans, because you are about to run a marathon, not a sprint. Plan for the unforeseen events of the future and let God be the foundation.
b. Common Sense: This is sound judgment in practical matters. Don’t start what you can’t finish. Don’t begin what you are not ready to do. Don’t plan with someone else’s funds. Be practical: save up, give yourself time, consult widely, and ensure other responsibilities do not suffer while you build. If you are not ready, wait till you are. Common sense will make you build enduring and adaptable institutions/structures.
c. Keeping Abreast of the Facts: We live in changing times. The rate of innovation in almost every field is at an all-time high. For what you build to prosper and endure, invest in improving yourself, read journals and books, and attend conferences and trainings. Find out what others are doing and what is the best practice for now. These would be an asset to you and what you build, keeping it relevant and profitable.
You are God’s child with His DNA in you. See the world He built; it still stands! Why? Because “The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens” (Proverbs 3:19-20). If you are considering building a new thing – a home, business, brand, TV program, counseling services, career, etc., may the wisdom that founded the earth and the understanding that established it be yours now and always. I pray that what you build lasts long and is profitable, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINTS
+ Dear Holy Spirit, guide me as I strategize for the enterprises You have called me to build.
+ Lord, cause my path to cross with that of every helper, information, and resource I need to build my life, career, home, brand or business.
+ Make this declaration: “I EMPLOY THE WISDOM OF GOD IN ALL MY PLANNING. THEREFORE, MY VENTURES WILL PROSPER EXCEEDINGLY, IN JESUS NAME.”
“I EMPLOY THE WISDOM OF GOD IN ALL MY PLANNING. THEREFORE, MY VENTURES WILL PROSPER EXCEEDINGLY, IN JESUS NAME.”
Amen !!!
Almost everything looks impossible until you write it down in planning. Thank you so much for this.
True! You are welcome.
Building any enterprise is a marathon, not a sprint. Endurance is important. The ability to wade through storms is needed.
Lord, help me to sit down and do what I must to build an enduring legacy. Help me to see it unfold, write it down and do all I’ve been taught to SEE IT REALLY UNFOLD.
