BUY WITHOUT MONEY

Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy, and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.  Isaiah 55:1

Isaiah 55:1-11

God calls to all who thirst to come to the water and to come to buy milk and wine. These two (wine and milk) will refer to a life of satisfaction based on the knowledge of God’s Word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, as both are received in our new life in Christ. We must ‘buy’ the truth and cherish it, we must ‘buy’ salvation and we must ‘buy’ a life of victory in Christ.

However, God says ‘buy without money’…   so it is not a financial transaction. Otherwise, these lavish benefits would only be for the rich. God is basically saying that all these things may come free, still, they cost something. The price God expects us to pay to buy any necessary provision for our eternal souls is to be willing to part with anything, no matter how much we cherish it, so that we may but have Christ and His favors and comforts. We must part with sin, we must deny ourselves and carry our cross, we must let go our own righteousness to ‘buy’ His righteousness. What we are willing to ‘let go’ for God will determine what God is willing to ‘let flow’ to us.

God makes this call to buy without money so that we will understand:

Firstly, that what He offers us is incalculably priceless and as such, no monetary value can be placed on it. Secondly, that He has no need for our monetary gifts in exchange for His gifts of grace – He is not a seller, but a giving God who gives to all liberally.

Thirdly, that if it were based on money, the rich would have more and the poor would have less of the gifts of God. But no, they are purchased with faith. Finally, these ‘free’ offers are available because Jesus Christ already paid the price for everything – He paid in full with His own blood (I Peter 1:18-19).

Therefore, let us come boldly to the throne of grace, to obtain everything Jesus paid for in full – whether you are rich or not, money is inconsequential – take a hold of peace, step into righteousness, obtain help and mercy, possess prosperity, receive healing and maintain your health, walk-in authority and dominate all earthly and demonic forces – because the price has been paid in full for you. Come buy without money and without price, as much as your faith can take!
