For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. II Timothy 4:3-4

II Timothy 4:1-5
We live in a world where there are various doctrines, opinions, philosophies, humanistic ideologies, atheism, etc., all calling for attention. Our focal scripture is being fulfilled before our very eyes because these are the days when people are turning from the truth and following fables. One of Satan’s strategies today with the advent of social media is to put out a lot of conflicting truth and information out there until the ‘undiscerning’ mind is confused. The aim of these ‘voices’ is to undermine the place and the authority of God in His children, and more importantly, in the world.
These voices often use some Scriptures to validate their opinions; they sometimes carefully dodge other portions of the bible and build a doctrine around just one portion, but you must be careful. If a text is taken out of its context, all you will be left with is ‘con’, you end up being conned.
The pattern of Satan’s deception has been established right from the very beginning in the Garden of Eden, and as we can see, he has no new tricks. What he does through the many voices today, is to misdirect people from the truth of God’s Word by twisting the Word and get people to question if the Word really says what it says. There are many Christians today who are deceived, headed to perdition because someone has told them, “Has God really said? Did God really mean it?” Another angle he uses is to spread lies that get people to question the character of God and see God as too demanding. Again, he pushes out information that makes people feel there is nothing wrong with living a sinful lifestyle because the grace of God is sufficient for them.
In Galatians 6:7, Paul, writing to Galatian believers, said to them, “Don’t be deceived.” It means that believers can be deceived; else, God wouldn’t say that. Therefore, we must be careful not to give heed to these seducing spirits. As believers, the days are upon us when we must know why we believe what we believe. We must study to show ourselves approved and rightly dividing the Word of God; we can’t just feed off someone’s posts on social media. It is only when we read, understand and rightly divide the Word that we will be able to defend our faith against the doctrines of demons and lying voices.

PRAYER POINTS
+ Pray that God will open your eyes so you can avoid the deception that is in the world.
+ Pray for revelation knowledge as you study the Word which will keep you on the straight path.
Only the word of God is true!
I will hold on to that truth!
In a space of conflicting voices, I must shut out the noise and amplify the voice of God through the Word, through Faith.
I choose faith.
