“Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, “Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.’ ”” ~ Exodus 5:1
REFERENCE:
God is intentional; all He does is to serve His kingdom’s purpose. When He created man, it was to replenish the earth and to govern it on His behalf. Revelation 4:11 (KJV) further says, “…for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” God made all men and all things to display His glory according to their respective natures. See Psalm 19:1.
This same principle was at play when the time came for God to deliver Israel from bondage; it was for a greater purpose. God would deliver Israel from years of bondage so they could have a festival of worship and sacrifice to Him in the wilderness. They were delivered for service.
As Zechariah prophesied on his son’s naming ceremony, he said, “To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.” This statement is why God saved you and me from sin and ungodliness – that He might find willing vessels of Kingdom service in us while we live.
Are you born again? Have you been delivered from a wayward lifestyle? Did God set you free from sin, substance abuse, immorality, a recurrent illness, or gripping fear? It is so that you will go out there and be a witness for Jesus, your Deliverer, in all your spheres of engagement. If you think salvation is just your insurance protection from hell, you are wrong; it is a call to fold your sleeves and serve God’s kingdom purpose. You may say, “In what way can I serve God?”
Find a human need around you and respond with God’s love. Join a department in your church and contribute to the salvation of others. Generously give to the preaching of the gospel. Be an evangelist in the workplace, using your trade or profession to tell people about God’s salvation creatively. This is why God called you and me out of darkness; we were delivered for service.
