“And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].” ~ II Corinthians 9:8 (AMPC)

Corinthians 9:7-9 (AMPC)
I love this main verse because it begins by saying, “God is able to…” It introduces God as having the ability to do, make, give, transform, heal, etc. Paul further says that God can make all grace come to you. ‘All grace’ reveals the circumference of God’s goodness; it covers every area of life because grace makes life great. Specifically, in our text, Paul shows us that God’s grace received will bring you to a point where you are furnished in abundance.
The needs, bills, and the desire to respond to poverty confront us daily. Sometimes, we get overwhelmed because the need outweighs our supply. Yet, Paul reveals God’s ability and grace to furnish you in abundance to respond to these needs. He uses words that should make you rest in God’s grace – able, all grace, every favor, surplus, under all circumstances, whatever the need, self-sufficient, require no aid, and furnished in abundance.
God is committed to your prosperity. I guarantee you that God is not glorified in poverty, and not in you giving your family ‘stories’ of delayed school fees, you have to move back to the village, no more protein in your meals, no transportation to go to church, etc. The life of the just should move from glory to glory, and our text shows us how to trigger financial abundance.
To be furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation, Paul says you must be committed to giving and generosity. He said, “The benevolent person scatters abroad; He gives to the poor.” Prosperity answers to generosity, and stinginess is poverty in installments. God takes pleasure in the willing, cheerful, prompt-to-do-it giver whose heart is in his giving. God prizes such a one above all things and is unwilling to do without him.
Choose to be a giver. Give to God and to causes He brings to your notice (as you can). I pray that God will make every favor and earthly blessing come to you in abundance. May you always and under all circumstances be self-sufficient, possessing enough to require no aid or support, and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation, in Jesus’ name.
