“One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.” ~ Psalm 145:4
REFERENCE:
The only control a man has over his tomorrow is the seeds he sows today. Children are like the seed that gives us hope for a tomorrow of hope, progress, and prosperity. To have a generational impact, we must pay attention to the children God has given us or exposed us to. We can begin to paint the picture of a fruitful next generation on the canvas of our children’s hearts.
When the Psalmist said, “One generation shall praise Your works to another…” he meant that this generation of Christian adults is responsible for investing in the coming generation. Our duty is to train them in the way they should go by precepts and our examples. Let us tell them about our walk with and work for God and testimonies of God’s dealings in our lives.
A child’s Christianity starts from honoring and obeying his parents as an act of submission to God’s order in the family. Children who find it difficult to submit to and obey their parents will find it difficult to have a healthy relationship with God. They will most likely rebel against all authority figures in their lives and will find it challenging to be good spouses down the road.
The future of our faith is presently being shaped by how we get our children involved in our faith. When a child possessed by a mute spirit was brought to Jesus, before praying for the child, Jesus looked at the adults there and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me” Matthew 17:17. Jesus put the responsibility for the young boy’s situation squarely on the shoulders of the adults.
God is calling us to make a kingdom generational impact. Lead your children to church. Ensure they have bibles, do their devotions, attend house fellowships, and learn how to pray. They are the next sets of pastors, preachers, evangelists, and apostles in the marketplace. God is using your home as the plant nursery in which the seeds are being nurtured. Pay attention to their development. Water them with love, patience, kindness, affirmation, and kind words. You will be proud when you see them sprout for the Lord. HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY to all our children.
