“This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” ~ I John 1:5
REFERENCE:
Light is one great gift that God gave to mankind. Upon the creation of the earth, the first thing God caused to appear was light. Although God caused light to ‘be’ on the first day of creation in the Genesis account, He created the sun, moon, and stars on the fourth day. Strange, isn’t it? The question is, “Where did the light on day one come from?” It came from God. God is light.
This is such a profound revelation about God; it is simple and all-encompassing. This image of light suggests three critical things about the person and nature of God:
1. Light represents knowledge: God is omniscient and knows all things. He sees all things in their true nature and character – seen and unseen; He cannot be deceived. Our motives, feelings, and purposes are as palpable to Him as are our bodies. Let there be light!
2. Light represents purity: It lets you see through. God is the Holy One; He alone is absolutely and infinitely holy. All His ways and words are pure, and no unrighteousness is found in Him.
3. Light represents joy and happiness: Infinite knowledge and purity will produce infinite joy and happiness. God possesses within Himself all the sources of unadulterated blessedness. That is why scripture says in His (holy) presence, there is fullness of joy.
John said God is light, and these are the virtues we are exposed to when we fellowship with Him. Walking with God gives you the knowledge of spiritual realities, offers you victory over sin, and fills you with unspeakable joy and glory. You cannot be in God and remain in the darkness of ignorance, sin, and depression. God’s light frees us from the power of satan.
Decide today to walk in the light of God. The glory of His light radiates from the word of God; the more you stay in your bible and obey it, the more you are acquainted with spiritual realities, live a life of purity, and walk in supernatural joy. God is light; let Him shine His light into your life, home, and family today. May your light shine brighter henceforth, in Jesus’ name.
