Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. – Hebrews 11:1
Faith is the most potent force on the face of the earth. It is believing in what cannot be perceived with the physical senses. John calls it the victory that overcomes the world; that is, the power that brings the world to its knees. Jesus said, “All things are possible to the person walking by faith.” (I John 5:4 & Mark 9:23 GNT). Faith pleases God, and He credits and calls a man of faith a ‘RIGHTEOUS MAN!’
The devil is absolutely powerless before a man/woman who is operating by faith; he has no antidote for faith. Therefore, the most he does is to put hindrances before you, so you never get to the point of developing faith, talk less of exercising it.
Everything that will come to you as a believer will come by faith; for the bible says, “The just shall live by faith.” Paul realized that the devil contends with our faith, so he told Timothy, “Fight the good fight of faith…” Jesus further showed how the devil fights faith, He said to Peter, “Satan has asked to sift you, but I have prayed that your faith will not fail you.”(I Timothy 6:12 & Luke 22:31&32).
Therefore, this week on Inspired 2Go, we shall be looking at some of the obstacles that Satan uses to hinder our faith from developing, thereby clogging our ability to live the transcended life.
The first hindrance to developing faith is, ‘Ignorance of the word of God.’ Without the word of God, faith has no basis. Where the will (word) of God is not known about a particular matter, faith cannot be exercised in that area of life…so often times, our victory in life is limited by illiteracy of scriptures.
We pay dearly for what we do not know. The magicians in Daniel 2 died for their ignorance of the King’s dream, but Daniel preserved himself by knowledge – what you know is what determines the quality of life you live.
Faith comes by hearing the anointed Word of God; thus, the solution to your ignorance of the word is, ‘hearing the word of God.’ It is God’s word that will tell you what is yours, who you are and what God can do. A wordless Christian is a faithless Christian. Dig into the word of God and feed your spirit well enough so your faith can be developed to the point of getting you uncommon results.
Pray for wisdom to enable you withstand the attacks against your faith; and for strength to continually develop your faith muscles through adequate intake of the word of God.
