Although we are believers and kingdom people, we mostly have secular engagements; these may include vocations, professional practice, consultancy, or all categories of jobs. We all want to do well in our jobs and prosper through them; however, there is a level of excellence that will produce such outstanding results. It may come through a person’s exertion, which is fine, but there is a dimension of God’s grace to excel in your field; it is the marketplace anointing.
Bezalel’s story is a testament to the transformative power of the marketplace anointing. He was called by God and ‘anointed’ for his profession, metalsmithing. This divine empowerment made him a world-class craftsman, surpassing others in his field. Imagine Bezalel creating potteries valued at $50 and then, with the touch of God’s anointing, producing masterpieces for which people were willing to pay $1,000. Bezalel’s story is a powerful reminder of the potential within each of us, waiting to be unlocked through the marketplace anointing.
There is a marketplace anointing that makes people excel and stand out in any field. Some are endowed with such graces from their mother’s womb—genus artists, writers, musicians, entrepreneurs, etc. Others receive it later in life, either through divine prerogative or by seeking it through training and asking God to breathe His anointing upon their skills.
God has that special ‘unction’ to enable you to function in your field of endeavor, and you can ask Him for it. The Holy Spirit knows all things and can do all things excellently well. He enabled Samson to use unconventional means to defeat an army. He made Isaac device a means to have a bumper agricultural harvest in famine time. (See Judges 15:9-16, Genesis 30:29-43)
The Holy Spirit can make you produce at a more excellent and prolific level than you are now. The anointing is not limited to the church; it will work in the courtroom, building site, barber’s shop, farm, oil and gas, military, etc. As you go into this week, may God lay His hands on you and your business and cause an excellent spirit to be upon you. May your gift level go a notch higher, and may your creative juices flow more than ever, in Jesus’ name.
