Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. ~ James 5:11
REFERENCE
James 5:7-11
To persevere simply means your ability to stay and finish the course in whatever you are doing, despite difficulties. Sometimes, things don’t happen at the time you anticipate they will and you can’t control the time when they will finally happen, so, you must learn to endure and not give up or give in to pressures.
A lot can happen between the time you set out to accomplish a dream and the time you finally see it come true. That in-between, especially when there is delay or difficulties, can hurt you and even dampen your spirit.
It hurts more when people make snide remarks about your situation (as they did to Job) as if something is wrong with you. Then there is also that part where others who started out at the same time, with the same mission as you, have already gotten their results…yet yours delays. That is when you start thinking of throwing in the towel.
However, Life has shown that you will feel like throwing in the towel the most when you are closest to your miracle – when something is about to happen. God doesn’t take pleasure in your drawing back, rather, He wants you to walk by faith, trusting Him and knowing that like Job, your blessings will come in multiple measures.
If the man at the pool of Bethaisda left after 37 years, he wouldn’t have seen his miracle, but he stayed put and got the fullness of his expectation. STAY PUT!
Remember: When you can’t see God’s hands, you must learn to trust His heart!
May you WIN against every WEARINESS confronting you this WEDNESDAY!
