Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible. – Luke 1:36-37
REFERENCE:
What makes God worth being called God is that He has the power to make the impossible possible. The bible is full of instances when God did things eyes had not seen nor ears heard. The conception of the Virgin Mary was one of such. It seemed incredible, and even Mary herself wondered at the possibility of such, but the angel Gabriel responded to her, “With God involved in a matter, nothing will be impossible.”
When Gabriel informed Mary about God doing the impossible in her, he told her of God’s recent dealing with Zechariah and Elizabeth. This couple was too old to have children; Elizabeth was named ‘Barren’, yet God changed their story and gave her conception. If you are facing an impossible situation, remember that others in the bible did too, but God came through for them. Peter toiled all night and caught nothing, facing a business collapse. Job lost everything and faced the possibility of a lonely old age. The woman with the unceasing menstrual flow could not get cured by any doctor for 12 years and faced imminent death. Lazarus’ coffin was already closed, leaving his two sisters with bereavement.
Although all these people were doomed and facing impossible situations, God came through for them and gave them a new story. Their backs were against the wall with no hope of reversals, restoration, or redemption, but God showed up for them. He delivered them and turned their mourning into dancing. How could it be medically explained that Elizabeth at 88 years (as some historians believe) would give birth to a child?
Beloved, your case is no different! With man it might seem impossible, but not so with God; with God, nothing is impossible. I encourage you to stretch out your faith in God again over that matter. Declare to Him that you believe in His possibility and that He will change your situation. I say to you by God’s spirit, “You are not too old. It is not too late. Your case is not so bad. The negative report is not the final verdict. You are not doomed because of that last rejection. You have not failed.” God can and will turn things around.
Be reassured that God will make your impossible situations possible. HALLELUJAH!
