As we approach the end of all things, the devil’s wickedness is more evident, and he seems to be tightening the noose around the necks of believers, but God gives hope in trying times. God promises that salvation is near, no matter how bad things seem. Let the words of the Apostle in this verse be a beacon of hope, assuring you that God’s timely help is on the way.
In moments of despair, it is easy to lose sight of the hope that lies ahead. Romans 8:24 assures us that our salvation is in this hope. Although it is not presently visible, we believe that God will show up with our salvation and help – indeed, our salvation draws nearer with each passing day. Even when it seems like God is distant, He hears your cries for help and is actively working to rescue you from your troubles. Prophet Isaiah said, “He will come and save you.”
Listen to God’s word to you (like a refreshing glass of cold water in a desert), “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). Be assured that amidst your tears and pain, God is present, providing strength, help, and support to sustain you through the difficulty.
As you wait for the full realization of our common salvation (rescue, help, deliverance, healing, peace of mind, etc.), “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7). I decree that God’s abundant peace will surround your heart at this time and give you hope.
Imagine a weary traveler in a dense forest, lost and surrounded by darkness and uncertainty. Suddenly, a faint light appears in the distance, guiding the traveler toward safety and shelter. In the same way, the promise of God’s salvation should be the light of hope that shines in our hearts when amid despair. God is not done with you yet; a new chapter is emerging.
