“A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled.” ~ Proverbs 18:20
REFERENCE:
Our text is quite interesting; it reveals that you can be satisfied by words. To be satisfied is to be adequately supplied, have your expectations met, and fulfill a need or desire. Solomon said that our words produce fruits that can satisfy us in every area of life. However, he did not limit its qualification to just positive or negative words; whichever you choose will satisfy you.
There is a connection between what you say and what you have, so don’t say what you don’t want to have. You can determine what you have by what you say. It is a law that cannot be broken. Your words can change your world, and you will ultimately harvest your words. If you understand this, you must mind your mouth and the words that proceed from there.
Hebrews 11:3 reveals something intriguing about the power of words. It says, “…by words, the things which we see were fabricated from things unseen.” Words can bring into appearance those things that presently do not appear; words can fabricate something tangible out of an intangible material. Most importantly, words spoken in faith are the vehicle that things unseen ride upon into the realm of the seen. You may not see it, but keep saying it.
If you are mindful of what you say, you can live a satisfied life. David said in Psalm 45:1, “My heart is overflowing with a good theme…my tongue is as the pen of a ready writer.” This verse shows that you can use your tongue to write how your story will end. You can change what your story reads or sounds like now. The pen is not in God’s or satan’s hands; the pen is in your hands…in your mouth. Salvation, healing, deliverance, etc., are all yours to take.
If you must be satisfied with food, you must open your mouth. Likewise, If you must live the extraordinary life God designed for you, you must open your mouth. Also, you must control and regulate what happens in your heart; feed it the word of God, and let it be your response to life. If you cannot take charge of what is going on in your heart, you will not be in control of what is coming out of your mouth. God wants you to walk in success this year; it begins in the mouth.
