SOLOMON ON WEALTH 3

“Who is like a wise man? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A man’s wisdom makes his face shine, and the sternness of his face is changed.” ~ Ecclesiastes 8:1

Listening to Solomon on wealth, today’s main text is essential. Solomon became what he was because of wisdom, and we are gleaning from it in this study. He said, “Wisdom makes a man’s face shine.” In other words, wisdom will beautify your life by enlightening your mind and expanding your capacity for understanding. Gaining money wisdom means you will start to see new ways and develop ideas to create wealth. Your life will shine for men to see.

Let’s gather again, sit at King Solomon’s feet and hear wisdom for financial dominion:

a.       Talk Less, Do More (Proverbs 14:23): Because of motivational speakers, many believe wealth only answers to right thinking and right talking. Although these play a part, if you stop there, you will be poor. It is also why many pray and fast for wealth, but these verses counsel, “Stop talking, start doing; stop praying, start working.” Spending your time in unproductive talks, gossips, discussing politics, soccer, celebrities, etc., will lead to poverty.

b.       Sleep Less, Open Your Eyes (Proverbs 20:13): Solomon did not just mean natural sleep; he meant not being blind to opportunities and ideas that can position you for prosperity. If you stay ‘asleep,’ you will become poor because of missed chances. Open your eyes! The world is full of things you can do, learn, or invest in that can satisfy you with wealth. It takes a level of alertness and awareness of up-to-date opportunities to take advantage of them.

c.       Good Judgment (Proverbs 13:23): This refers to a man who sits on a land with significant natural or agricultural resources, but because of a lack of discernment and rational analysis, everything goes to waste. Many are naturally gifted, learned, and inherit a great estate or business, yet, they become poor because they lack the practical ‘know how’ to profit from them. What is around you that you can turn to wealth? Elisha asked the widow, “What do you have in your house?”

d.       Take Correction (Proverbs 13:18): One great blessing is having someone to show you where you are going wrong, correct you, and guide you. It may be a mentor, parent, teacher, boss, or colleague. Refusing correction shows you hate wisdom, and Solomon says it will lead to poverty and shame. He said, “Teach a just man, and he will increase learning.” Information drives financial wealth, so you cannot afford to refuse correction.

Sometimes, we overlook these king Solomon’s wisdom lessons on wealth. However, they are often responsible for the tremendous financial shortage that many experience. You can take one of today’s tips by king Solomon on wealth and give yourself to working it until you prove it.

Lord, cure me of any tendency that shuts my eyes to prospects that can change my financial destiny. Please open my eyes to see the potential wealth within and around me and give me the diligence to tap into them. I will not refuse correction or profitable criticism; I give myself to learning that I may have the good judgment to explore opportunities and profit exceedingly, in Jesus’ name.
