“That you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ.” ~ Philippians 1:10
REFERENCE:
As we begin a new week, let’s talk about excellence and what it means to strive for it in all aspects of your life. The pursuit of excellence is not about achieving a specific goal or level of success. The journey requires patience, dedication, attention to detail, and faith. When you strive for excellence, you are constantly growing and improving yourself. You are pushing yourself to be better than you were yesterday, which is a noble pursuit.
Philippians 4:8 calls you to set your thoughts on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable; it says, “If anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.” Excellence must begin in your mind, the quality of your thoughts – what you permit and refuse. If mediocrity is OK by you in your thinking, it will manifest in your reality, and vice versa. However, striving for excellence in thoughts and deeds honors God and inspires people.
Achieving success is good, but excellence is more significant than that. It is about the effort you put into everything you do to improve on it. It is not about competing with others but becoming your best self and producing your best output. A man skilled and dedicated to his work will serve before kings (Proverbs 22:29). Excellence attracts the great, and it is rewarding in career, relationships, or personal growth. If you strive for excellence, success will ultimately manifest.
As you go into the week, put in a little more effort to achieve excellence, refuse to settle in your mind for mediocrity, and do something better this week than you did last week. Remember that the pursuit of excellence is a life-long journey, but as you commit to it, God will cause you to see reward tokens as you go. Very soon, the great will patronize you, become your spokespersons and advertisers, and be willing to pay for whatever you set as your price (of fee).
Today, strive to be your best, knowing your hard work will be rewarded. May you bring glory to God in all that you do and inspire others to do the same. Let your light shine before all men.
