“Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness…” ~ II Corinthians 12:8-9
REFERENCE:
Jesus Christ is the embodiment of the Grace of God. We often only see Grace as unmerited favor. Still, it is God’s help made available to man to fulfill God’s work or bear difficult situations without losing enthusiasm or quitting. Despite the ‘thorn’ that troubled Paul, he did mighty exploits through the sufficient grace of Christ and left a great legacy behind.
Are you dealing with a ‘thorny’ situation? Are you waiting on God to remove a reproach from you? Paul, a mighty apostle, was dealing with this embarrassing thorn. How did he feel when he preached or prayed for people while with his ‘thorn?’ God’s Grace helped Paul bear the thorn and ensure he lost nothing (impact, influence, or honor amongst peers) because of the thorn.
Are you going through pain, loss, grief, or rejection? Ask and receive the Grace of God. You need ‘Grace’ to hold on, do your work, be focused, and enjoy the blessings of God in your life while you wait. Don’t judge God by your experience; see Him through His sufficient Grace.
While a minister preached one day, a man stood up in the congregation. He said publicly, “It is easy for you to talk about how dear Christ is to you and helps you, but if your wife was dead, as mine is, and your kids are crying for their mother who would never come back, you could not say what you are saying.” Sometime later, the minister’s wife died in a railway wreck. Other ministers conducted the funeral service in the church where her body lay in state.
After the service, he stood by the casket, looked into the face of his wife, and said, “The other day when I was here, a man said, I could not say Christ was sufficient if my wife were dead, and my kids were crying for their mother. If that man is here, tell him that Christ is sufficient. My heart is all broken, crushed, and bleeding, but there is a song in my heart. My wife may be gone, but Christ comforts me today.” That man was there; he came down the aisle, knelt beside the casket, and said, “Surely, if Christ can help us like that, I will surrender my life to Him.”
I end with Tauren Wells’ song: “No matter what I have, Your Grace is enough. No matter where I am, I’m standing in Your love. On the mountains, I will bow my life to the One who set me there. In the valley, I will lift my eyes to the One who sees me there.” No matter what you are going through now, may God extend sufficient Grace to you and give you peace, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER:
Lord, I confess that You are good, and Your Grace is sufficient. I thank You for Your presence that has been with me through my journey. I may not be where I want to be and may have ‘thorny’ situations, but I ask for Your Grace today. Let it carry me through these trying times and bring me out better on the other side. I say boldly, “YOUR GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR ME!”
HIS Grace is sufficient for me!
On the hill or in the valley, Lord, Your Grace is sufficient for me.
The gift of His presence is a privilege!
His Grace sufficient!
He is able to put out the fire; still, if I pass through it, His grace stays with me and brings me out unharmed. Hallelujah!
